IT/IM Manager

I am originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I moved to Canada to pursue higher education. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2009 from the University of Prince Edward Island and Bachelor of Computer Science degree in 2013 from the same university. I joined Treaty 8 Education as a IT Specialist in the year of 2013, and was promoted to IT Manager in the year 2014. Prior to working with Treaty 8, I worked in retail, at an Investment firm, and a Web development and Software development company. At Treaty 8, my work mostly relates to Student Information System (PowerSchool), Online Learning Resources (SOLARO) support, Special Education module, and IT support. Keeping all these application servers running and up to date in terms of updates is my primary focus. I also spent a lot of time keeping PASI up to date for our 16 schools, implementing IT policies and procedures, OCAP principal, and improving IT support for the Treaty 8 schools. I am a member of the Sucker Creek First Nation. I currently reside in Edmonton, AB and work for Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta as the MOU Officer and Communications Officer for the Education Department. I am originally from the Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement and relocated to Edmonton in 1979. PowerSchool Support Worker

I provide IT support and training to the band operated schools within the Treaty 8 of Alberta region. The main area of support I provide is with PowerSchool, Power-Teacher, and Gradebook; however, I also provide support with the following programs: PASI, Solaro, and Dossier. My PowerSchool Certification consists of Level 1 – PowerSchool Instant Productivity Training (Train the Trainer) as well as Level 2 – PowerSchool District Certification Standards-based Grading PowerSchool University. IT Support Education Department

I work with Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta in the Education department with IT Support. I’ve been with Treaty 8 since January 2015and provide support in SOLARO, PowerSchool, Power-Teacher, Gradebook, Dossier, and PASI. Student Transportation Consultant

Tansi, My Name is Ryk David Badger from Sturgeon Lake Alberta and I am a First Nations Student Transportation Consultant. I have been providing services to Treaty 8 as the Transportation Coordinator since 2013. As the Transportation Consultant, I provide guidance and support to the Treaty 8 First Nation communities through Operating Guideline Development, Student Presentations, and Bus Driver in-Service Training to assist in ensuring that your child receives safe, reliable, and consistent Student Transportation to and from school. I am very passionate about student transportation and have a vested interest. My twin daughters ride a school bus to and from each day and I am comforted in knowing that they are in the care of trained, friendly, professional and courteous driving personnel. Literacy/Numeracy

I have been an educator for 27 years. For the last 4 years I have been one of the Literacy /Numeracy Specialist’s for the Treaty 8 First Nation Student Success Program. I have been a classroom teacher for many grades, a special education teacher, a vice-principal, a special education coordinator, a program support coordinator, and now a specialist. As a Specialist, I provide professional support to schools and teachers in the Treaty 8 territory. I coach teachers in best practices, and develop professional development workshops and/or PLC’s unique to the needs of the school and classroom teachers. I am passionate about literacy and have developed a Treaty 8 annual reading and writing contest that has been implemented and operational for 3 years. IT Support Worker Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia. I received a degree in Broadcasting from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2016, which led me to when I first worked with Treaty 8 producing and filming a live webcast of an event.I later joined Treaty 8 Education in the summer of 2016 as an IT Support Worker. My duties include helping to maintain the PowerSchool servers for the Treaty 8 schools as well as PowerSchool support such as helping to enroll students, create classes, etc. I also do support for the newly implemented PowerSchool Special Education system for the schools.And I also film and broadcast various Treaty 8 events for our YouTube channel.
