Mathletics Teacher’s Login

Mathletics:

Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta Education has purchased Mathletics for band schools on reserves as part of our FNSSP program.

Mathletics is a comprehensive on-line interactive and engaging Math learning resource for schools/teachers and students. It is aligned to the provincial Program of Studies and has assessment tools and content to measure student ability levels. The website is www.mathletics.ca.

For teachers:

Teachers are given username and password to access their Teacher Console at www.mathletics.ca.

  • Can create groups and move students
  • Preview, set and edit courses
  • View results and set classroom or homework task -Instant marking and reporting
  • Helps organize your teaching time and design learning pathways for individual students that can include set minimum levels in Live Mathletics
  • View, print and export reports on performance and activities summaries
  • Print certificates and view strengths and weaknesses for individual students
  • Challenger: test students against standards to assess or benchmark your class
  • Valuable formative assessment data
  • Ebooks and printable worksheets are available as well as corresponding teacher answer books for hints and tips
  • View and demonstrate the student center as students see it
  • Teacher toolkit to search for content and plan lessons (includes videos, animated times tables songs, interactive dictionary definitions and step-by-step concept introductions) that can be used on your interactive whiteboard
  • Automatic feedback to home

Special Education (Important Dates)

March                           New revised Guidelines are sent to First Nations / schools

 

April                            Each school that will be providing a Special Education program for the new school year is required to submit a Special Education Intervention Letter. This letter is the first step in Intervention funding.

NEW EOP STUDENTS:

 

The following signed documentation is required for all requested Extra-Ordinary Profound (EOP) submissions:

 

  • Extra-Ordinary Profound List with all students requested
  • The Assessment for each new student , Monitoring Checklist
  • EOP Update or Summary of School Functioning Letter for returning students

           

May 1st                       Special Education Program Report due for each school. Report training is available.

 

October 15th                Nominal Roll is due in INAC Regional Office

 

October                    The following signed documentation is submitted to Treaty 8 Special Education Specialist

  • Mild/Moderate SEP List for each school
  • SEP List, with Severe students for each school
  • Extra-Ordinary/Profound List

 

Ongoing                      Pre compliance visits upon request

On-Site Special Education Compliance as per schedule

Assist schools in areas of Special Education programming and service needs

Provide training and professional development to schools upon request

Provide professional services to schools (Psychologist, Speech Language Pathologist, Behaviour)

Collect, document and submit to INAC all Special documentation received from Treaty 8 schools

3rd annual Treaty 8 Writing Contest - Results

Dear Principals,
I am very happy to report that the 3rd annual Treaty 8 Writing Contest was very successful with over 110 student entries and 6 schools participating. Every student entry will receive a certificate of participation.  Each Division Winner will receive a $100.00 gift card and the runner ups will receive a $50.00 gift card. I am pleased to announce the winners and runner ups for each division.
Division One:
  • Winner- Deshaye Coleman from Driftpile School with his report on Polar Bears
  • Runner Up- Latisha Alook from Chief Tallcree with her report on Eagles
  • Runner Up- Denzel Chalifoux from Driftple School with his report on Eagles
  • Division Two:
  • Winner- Kiana Auger from Clarence Jaycox School with her report on Elephants Runner Up- Shenoa Auger from Clarence Jaycox School with her report on Octopus
  •   Division Three:
  • Winner – Lesleigh Madison Noskey from Clarence Jaycox School with her report on Lacrosse
  • Runner Up- Kayla Alook from Jean Baptise Sewepagaham School with her report on Fingerpull
  • Division Four:
  • Winner- Naokan Adams from Jean Baptise Sewepagaham School with her report on Rebellion.
  •   Writing begins in Kindergarten and to encourage these students to get writing the two kindergarten classes that participated in the writing contest will each receive a class award of a $50.00 gift card. The two K5 classes are from Driftpile School and Fox Lake Elementary School.
    Thank you to all of the schools, teachers and students who were encouraged to write.

    SWAN RIVER FN HOLDS A CULTURAL CAMP TO RAISE AWARENESS

    TREATY 8 CHIEFS OPTIMISTIC AFTER MEETING WITH PREMIER
