TREATY 8 FIRST NATION OF ALBERTA -"As long as the sun shines, grass grows and the rivers flow..."

In February of 2005, a number of Chiefs and Elders representing Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta (T8FNA) gathered to discuss issues of significant importance to their communities.

The “Right to Livelihood” was one of the issues identified as vital to the future of Treaty 8 people in Alberta.

A Committee of Chiefs was established with the mandate to address “livelihood related matters and issues” including:

Today, a skilled and committed team of Chiefs, Elders and Staff continue this important work under the name: LIVELIHOOD.
