Bigstone Health Commission in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking a competent COVID 19 Off-Reserve Coordinator to join our talented Health Team. This role will provide support and act as a liaison to Off-Reserve members residing in Edmonton, Alberta. The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to Off-Reserve members with services such as food security, homelessness and Personal Protective Equipment needs.
- Assist and act as a liaison for off-reserve members in need of support services.
- Connect members to supports to which they are eligible for (social services, food bank, etc.)
- Provide members with appropriate information and/or referrals to applicable agencies.
- Provide reporting updates to Supervisor.
- Knowledgeable about community resources and organizations Foster and maintain excellent collaborative relationships with health and social service professionals addressing member’s needs.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment and adhere to all COVID-19 protocols.
- Other duties as required
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Must be familiar with Edmonton and surrounding areas
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Must be familiar with Edmonton support services and agencies
- Must demonstrate punctuality, flexibility in relation to the position demands
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Must be physically fit
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to speak the Cree language and familiar with Aboriginal culture Strong attention to detail
- A self-starter; ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to exercise good judgement and to demonstrate initiative
Qualifications:
- Previous employment experience within the Health field or equivalent
- High School diploma
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must have a valid driver’s license, class 5 minimum
- Must have First Aid/ CPR certification
- Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
- Child & Youth Intervention Check
Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications.
