Bigstone Health Commission in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking a competent COVID 19 Off-Reserve Coordinator to join our talented Health Team. This role will provide support and act as a liaison to Off-Reserve members residing in Edmonton, Alberta. The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to Off-Reserve members with services such as food security, homelessness and Personal Protective Equipment needs.
• Assist and act as a liaison for off-reserve members in need of support services.
• Connect members to supports to which they are eligible for (social services, food bank, etc.)
• Provide members with appropriate information and/or referrals to applicable agencies.
• Provide reporting updates to Supervisor.
• Knowledgeable about community resources and organizations  Foster and maintain excellent collaborative relationships with health and social service professionals addressing member’s needs.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment and adhere to all COVID-19 protocols.
• Other duties as required

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Must be familiar with Edmonton and surrounding areas
• Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills
• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Must be familiar with Edmonton support services and agencies
• Must demonstrate punctuality, flexibility in relation to the position demands
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Must be physically fit
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to speak the Cree language and familiar with Aboriginal culture  Strong attention to detail
• A self-starter; ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to exercise good judgement and to demonstrate initiative

Qualifications:

• Previous employment experience within the Health field or equivalent
• High School diploma

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must have a valid driver’s license, class 5 minimum
• Must have First Aid/ CPR certification
• Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
• Child & Youth Intervention Check

 

Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications.
