Reporting to the Reunification Home Manager


Whitefish Lake First Nation Children’s Reunification Home (WFLCRH) is a brand-new program that provides a crisis nursery, emergency care, and family programming to children and their parents. WFLCRH is a 24-hour residential program. Our hope is to bring our children and youth back to our home community and reunite successfully with their family and community supports. The Reunification Home is for children and youth from 0 to 17 years old.


The Reunification Home is looking for a qualified, experienced and dedicated individual for the Supervisor position. The Reunification Home Supervisor will have oversight of the daily operations of Reunification Home programming. * Compensation will be based on education and experience and may be required to work evenings and weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Reunification Home Manager;
  • Oversee full-time and casual childcare workers and support staff;
  • Provide a supportive role to the childcare workers;
  • Ensure staff are performing duties according to program procedures and roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensures that all required legislated program standards are being met, including report reporting to funders and adherence to employee policies and procedures;
  • After hours on-call support to staff;
  • Ensure shifts are covered according to ratio and need;
  • Conducts Performance Evaluation of staff;
  • Coordinate case conferences with relevant agencies, including referral agencies;
  • Ensure care plans are developed and followed;
  • Ensure daily schedules and program of residents followed;
  • Ensure mandatory training is arranged to all staff; and
  • Ensures that food, supplies, and other essentials are adequately stocked.

Qualifications:

Education: Diploma, or degree in a human services field. **Combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Training will be provided before starting.


Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, overseeing staff;
  • Have experience working with First Nation children and youth;
  • Must be familiar with child developmental stages;
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc);
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • 1st aid/CPR certification (if not, training will be provided);
  • Ability to conduct self in a professional manner, and be a Team Player.

Additional Requirements:
Current and valid Alberta driver’s license; access to vehicle with $2M auto liability insurance; mandatory Intervention Record Checks and Criminal Record Checks (both security checks must be within 6 months to be valid)
